Thanks, this blog aided me somewhat in solving some issues with the latest release, Why do they always leave out vital information when they upgrade? It may be minor to them but not to me. I'm sure we're not alone either.

There is a new link for 64 bit version of Flash

http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10_64bit.html

On Ubuntu 19.4 it will need to be placed in the lib64

meaning the command line becomes

sudo cp libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/firefox-addons/plugins

[...] However, rather than Googling ‘flash not working ubuntu 9.04′, I though that perhaps I should try looking at how to get flash working on Ubuntu 9.04 rather than focussing on why it’s not working. My search revealed success via this article. [...]

Hi there:

I installed the version as you suggested. The program looks fine, the sound's setup is fine, the video is fine...but when I try to make a test call I receive a failure message.

Jaunty comes packaged with VLC 0.99a which includes the new ffmpeg and thus RealMedia playback and all sorts of goodies but it has a bug where the video display will not separate to the interface.

VLC Integrated Video Bug, and temporary remedy here :- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vlc/+bug/314038

Forgot that with a fresh install I had to do so many other steps, remove stuff like Evolution etc, add stuff like VLC, Thunderbird, Geany, RapidSVN.

One of the first things is also to undo the horrible change to the update notification! Read about it in the release notes :- http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/904

I had to manually change my sound settings from default to 'pulseaudio', which gave me sound again. It depends on your system, try out various audio settings in your skype settings and use the test call/test sound feature to confirm your sound works.
